Pastor Herndon started a Bible Study in late 2008 with five people in the “upper room” of his Arrowhead Ranch Home. He started having services on Wednesday Nights where he cooked dinner for the attendees. Everyone would gather and break bread together and receive the Word of God preached by Dr. Gene. His Home Bible Study grew to over 30 people in a few months. In January of 2009 Stonepoint had its first service in a Hotel Ballroom and ultimately settled into a strip mall in Peoria, AZ.

Pastor Gene is a devoted husband to Shana Herndon and father to his daughter Ariana McKinley. In his personal time he is passionate about boating, interior design, and sitting on the beach doing absolutely nothing.
